Slänger upp en bildsamling jag tog hos den lokala handlaren Autowåx i Karlstad. M5 F10 av 2014 års modell med "Competition-paket". Denna (NZL***) är en av de första i landet med sån utrustning.
Det innebär att den har 575hk istället för standardbilens 560 och 0-100 avverkas på 4.2 sekunder. Det åstadkoms med hjälp av höjt laddtryck mellan 6000-7000 rpm samt ett annat avgassystem. Vridmomentet är detsamma som tidigare, 680Nm.
Chassit är sänkt med 10mm. Stötdämpare och krängningsghämmare förstärkt. EDC och styrning modifierat åt det sportigare hållet.
Det finns även style 601 20" fälgar i tvåfärgat utförande, men denna bil var beställd med svarta 20-tummare (343M). Ser inte värst bra ut enligt min mening, men smaken är väl som baken.
Hela Competition-kalaset kostar 86.000 kr (!) vilket jag tror blir en anledning att ganska få bilar kommer beställas med detta till Sverige.
Den hade också de nya adaptiva LED-strålkastarna och den nyaste M-ratten med lite retrodesign. Det fanns tillgängligt från juli, alltså årsmodell 2014 (LCI).
Bilderna säger mer än mitt snack så ta en titt. Blir det bu eller bä för denna spec?
Dubbla ribbor i grillen är karaktäristiskt för M5-14 och framåt
Frontemblemet har gjort comeback. Fanns senast på M5-94.

jag säger bara: vilken koloss! vad väger en sådan?
inte konstigt att de är tvugna att bestycka dem med turbosar för att få iväg åbäket...
usch vad negativ jag är nu, men jag tycker att de nyare bilarna är urtrista.
Jag tycker att fler ska göra som Ford, fram med lite retrostuk!

| Jag förvånas över att bilen har extrautrustning för nästan 300 tusen (eller 200 000 om man räknar bort competition package) och ändå känns bilen lite tråkig med svart standardläder och silvriga standardlister.. Men alla väljer vi olika saker att lägga pengar på... |

Hopefully will pick it up at Molins next Wednesday….
I think I will powder coat the Wheels to a more silver metal colour.
The car will go to Molin for reading the codes so any warranty work can be fixed asap, hopefully none! Tires, breaks, pads, service and general condition is still very good. One stone chip to be fixed before delivery. Full frontal repaint due to hitting an animal. 5 owners, 3 users (including me :-). Im looking forward to seeing if all the vids are correct that the chassis/gearbox/engine performance are really that good.
Will post my thoughts up in a few months when I get the chance to put it in to summer traffic...

Performance wise it's brilliant but the car is too big to handle it, the reason i sold mine.
I hope you got it cheap.  |

I understand it's a big car, and as such has its limitations.
I just dont want to have to worry about:-
SMG relays/clutch
Rod Bearings
Actuator cogs
Vanos solenoids
Having said that the M6 was a fantastic car. Handling, sound & looks (from most angles :-).
I managed to get a Premium Selection car, god knows how....so that adds to peace of mind.

Holy sweet mother of god. I drove the beast 18km to its warm garage.
All I can say its got more Power than Thanos's Infinity Glove.
It felt very basic in the lowest settings (Gearbox, Steering, Engine Response, EDC). Program in them to "Sport Plus" on Everything - then you are just pinned back with so much torque that it sets a permanent grin on your face. The roads were wet (but clear of snow/ice) so I couldn't really test it, but from just this short drive - I can foresee what an utter beast this thing is and that only Track tires will be able to keep the back end straight and gripping. I dont know if it was just that the brakes were Cold, but they didn't have that bite that I expected.
The car also felt big, but not too Heavy as the suspension in the Competition does an excellent job of disguising it. Again I didnt push it but the short drive offered a glimpse of how good it is, EDC in the hardest setting is not suitable for normal roads 8unless its new tarmac!).
I am a bit of a technik nerd - so I loved all the new Tech in this generation, especially where you can record CD's onto the hard drive in the car, and also loved the artwork from albums in both Spotify and Apple Music that appear on the screen. The HUD is excellent with lane change warnings and Speed Limit recognition - its also very Bright and can be easily seen in the daytime, unlike the previous gen.
